Lieutenant Jonathan Butts, Administrative Lieutenant
Lieutenant Jonathan Butts is a lifelong central Illinois resident and proud graduate of Pana High School. After graduating high school in 1984, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in law enforcement administration and a minor in political science/public administration at Western Illinois University. John is also a graduate of the Lincoln Land Police Training Academy and the FBI's National Academy Quantico, Virginia session #258. He obtained a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Lincoln Christian University.
Lieutenant Butt's law enforcement and public safety service career began in August of 1989 as a patrol deputy. Since then, he has held a variety of positions including residential patrol deputy, juvenile investigations detective, patrol sergeant, court security supervisor, assistant jail administrator, patrol shift lieutenant, patrol division commander and chief of investigation. He is also the office's internship coordinator and oversees the motorcycle unit.
